We were the legal team that couldn't ship fast enough.
ClauseSpark started in a Series B SaaS company where the legal team was three lawyers reviewing 60 contracts a week — by hand, in Word, on weekends. We built the first version for ourselves. It worked. So we made it a product.
Three things we believe about contracts.
1. The boring 80% should be automated.
Most contract review is repetitive. The same 12 edits to every NDA. The same risk flags on every MSA. Humans should make judgement calls; software should make redlines.
2. AI is a tool, not a lawyer.
We're cautious about AI-only workflows. Every redline ClauseSpark proposes is reviewed by a human before it ships. We design our product around that constraint, not against it.
3. Speed is a feature of trust.
Fast review isn't just convenient — it changes how the rest of the business sees legal. Legal stops being the bottleneck. The relationship with sales, procurement, and finance changes. That's the real win.
